Suzanne Hurwitz, Project Coordinator at Initiative for Women with Disabilities (IWD) will be blogging on Tumblr  during her August Trip to Nigeria.  IWD is a Multi-Disciplinary Women’s Center: Empowering Women to Pursue a Healthy Lifestyle

Suzanne writes: Greeting from Lagos, Nigeria!  I have been warmly welcomed by our partners from Treasureland Health Builders and Disability Policy and Advocacy Initiative who IWD is working with as part of Mobility International USA’s Empower Partnship for Inclusive Communities Program. Our goal for this partnership is to increase access to health care services for people with disabilities living in Nigeria and share best practices. During my 9 day stay, I have had the opportunity to learn about Nigerian culture, explore the markets, eat traditional food, tour local hospitals and advocate with my colleagues for inclusive healthcare. I am so impressed with the kindness of the people and the vision they have to improve services to people with disabilities living in Lagos. I look forward to sharing my experiences with all of you upon my return and to hosting our partners in New York City in October! Please follow me on my trip to Nigeria on my Tumblr blog at http://shurwitznyc.tumblr.com/ and on the IWD Facebook Page.
