  • Available to allThe IDNYC card will be accessible to all residents of New York City age 14 and older, including undocumented immigrants, homeless individuals, LGBT individuals, and disconnected young adults. The IDNYC program underscores the Mayor’s commitment to support all of New York City’s residents, including immigrants who have been left in limbo in the absence of comprehensive immigration reform.
  • Compelling benefits. The IDNYC card has been formally recognized by the NYPD as valid identification, may be used to open bank and credit union accounts at select financial institutions and can be used as a library card at each of New York City’s three library systems. The card will also offer a number of attractive benefits such as free one-year memberships at 33 of the City’s leading museums, zoos, concert halls, and botanical gardens, as well as discounts at a range of local businesses, including movies theaters, Broadway shows, fitness and wellness centers, on prescription drugs and much more.
  • Largest in the nation. This will be the largest municipal ID card program nationwide by scale, benefits, security and privacy protections. As such, IDNYC will serve as a model integration program for the most vulnerable members of our communities.
  • Free. IDNYC cards will be free for all of 2015. The cards will be valid for five years.
