Resident Housekeeper - Transitional Housing

Barrier Free Living (BFL) is dedicated to helping New Yorkers with disabilities live independently in the community.  Through its various programs, BFL provides a broad range of residential and non-residential services to disabled survivors of domestic violence, transitional shelter to the disabled homeless, and outreach to physically disabled individuals with mental health and/or chemical addiction issues. The Resident Housekeeper reports to the Shelter Director.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Sweep and Mop Residential Floors
  • Clean Resident Living Quarters (Sweep, Mop, Making of Beds)
  • Clean Bathrooms (Basins, Toilets, Mirrors, Mopping, Change Toilet paper)
  • Clean Shower rooms
  • Dusting and Wiping surfaces
  • Clean Windows and Sills
  • Emptying Trash Containers
  • Linen Maintenance (Cleaning, Stocking, Distributing)
  • Toilet paper
  • Monitor and report necessary repairs, replacements and safety issues
  • Organize and restock utility cart with supplies as needed

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Knowledge of cleaning and sanitation products and procedures
  • Physical stamina and mobility including the ability to kneel and bend
  • Ability to lift minimum 30 pounds
  • Must possess the ability to follow directions and work closely with others

Start Date: ASAP

Hourly  $12.00

Hours per week: 14-21
