Our History

BFL-history1

In 2021, Barrier Free Living (BFL) celebrated our 40th Anniversary with our 40 years of Firsts Event.

BFL began its ground-breaking work with people with disabilities as a Federally-funded Research and Demonstration Project first known as “Project Outward Bound.” Today, our teams work with survivors of domestic violence with disabilities at our programs: Freedom House, Secret Garden and BFL Apartments.
