Freedom House Celebrates Mother’s Day
Barrier Free Living’s Freedom House shelter for survivors of domestic violence with disabilities held a special Mother’s Day event this week.
Entertainer Michelle DellaFave (photo above) headlined the community dinner. Michelle became a familiar face to millions of television viewers in the late 1960s and early ’70s through her work each week on Dean Martin’s NBC television series.
The event is held annually at Freedom House.
The team shared that “more than 10 families participated and most of the clinical staff. Michelle sang beautifully! Tomorrow, we plan to have a special arts and craft activity with the children and moms.”
Participants received a tote bag and a tumbler saying “#1 Mama”.
Opened in 2006, Freedom House is a domestic violence shelter for women, men and children serving both families and single individuals with or without disabilities.
