Toward the end of Lady Gaga’s powerhouse performance of the Oscar nominated “Til It Happens to You”  on Sunday night a curtain parted onstage, and dozens of men and women stepped forward, all of them survivors of sexual assault.

They brandished phrases on their forearms like “Survivor,” “You Are Love,” “Unbreakable” and “Not Your Fault.”

The song, co-written by Gaga and Diane Warren, is from “The Hunting Ground,” a CNN Films documentary about sexual assaults on American college and university campuses.
