Taping with BFL's Paul Feuerstein, Katie Webb and host Allison Sesso

The Human Services Council of New York (HSC) premieres its new weekly, hour-long radio series, Voices of Human Services, on WWRL (1600 AM) on Wednesday, June 26, from 11 pm to 12 midnight.

Co-moderated by HSC Executive Director Michael Stoller and Deputy Executive Director Allison Sesso,  the weekly broadcast will explore a range of topics related to the human services needs of New Yorkers and the public policies that have an impact on the effective delivery of nonprofit human services programs.

The July 3 show will feature: Barrier Free Living President/CEO Paul Feuerstein; Katie Webb, Assistant Director of BFL’s Secret Garden program; and a Secret Garden program participant. The show’s topic: key issues connected with the Women’s Equality Agenda, the 10-point legislative plan proposed by New York State Governor Andrew Cuomo that failed to make it through the legislative session.

Future programs will address such topics as the effect of government budget cuts on human services programs, the need for revenue-generating alternatives, and marijuana laws that have a disproportionate impact on youth in communities of color.

The program airs on WWRL AM 1600 every Wednesday from 11 pm to 12 midnight from June 26 through August 28 and will be streamed online at www.wwrl1600.com. It will also be available on HSC’s website at www.humanservicescouncil.org and on Facebook and Twitter:
