Insperity Valentine Event Supports Barrier Free Living
Insperity hosted a Valentine themed volunteer event this past February at its NYC Midtown office, creating flower bouquets, heartfelt cards, and gifts for children and parents at Barrier Free Living (BFL).
Members from Insperity offices across NYC, NJ and Westchester joined the event. BFL’s Linette Holmes was the special guest.
Insperity shares: This was a volunteer event sponsored by Insperity’s New York based team, through Insperity’s Corporate Citizenship. Insperity promotes a very intentional and purposeful corporate community involvement, and as part of its mission, we actively engage with the communities in which we operate. This event was particularly meaningful because it was for one of our very own local clients.
The idea behind this Valentine’s Day Volunteer Event was to create beautiful flower bouquets, write heartfelt cards, and assemble Valentine’s Day gifts for children and parents at Barrier Free Living. The purpose was to provide joy, encouragement, and a sense of community support to current families at BFL.
What inspired Insperity to do this drive and event for BFL?
The New York service teams proposed hosting more volunteer events to support our local clients and communities. After gaining leadership approval, Barrier Free Living was chosen from a range of nonprofit organizations presented to our NY teams.
What do you hear from staff who recently learned about BFL regarding the work the agency does.?
This event was one of the most successful we’ve ever hosted at our office! Employees from across our regional offices (including NJ, CT, Westchester, and Long Island) traveled to take part, highlighting the deep commitment to our community and how impactful the cause was. It was an incredible honor to support our community through one of our very own clients. Partnering with Barrier Free Living means so much to us, as we contribute to the safety, healing, and empowerment of domestic violence survivors, regardless of age, size, or ability, helping them rebuild their lives with dignity and hope.
What has surprised you most about the work BFL does?
The impact of BFL’s mission is undeniable, but what has truly stood out to us is the unwavering commitment and genuine care of every staff member we’ve met. As we wrapped up the event, Linette shared something that deeply resonated with us: “Your culture reminds me so much of how we are and how we treat each other at BFL.” I believe this is what makes our partnership so successful. At BFL, the team isn’t just a group of colleagues; they are a family. They support one another and extend that same warmth and inclusivity to their guests and tenants, making everyone feel at home. The heart of BFL lies in its people, and it’s their dedication that makes this place so special.
Do you have another event planned for BFL?
We do not have another event planned for BFL at this time. However, we always welcome the opportunity to collaborate and volunteer. Insperity is committed to helping the communities where we serve.
