About a dozen Freedom House team members participated in a 4-week ASL workshop this spring.

Caelan Manning, a Barrier Free Living case manager, ran the workshop. The goal was to educate and inform staff about working and interacting with the Deaf community.

Manning hopes that “staff will be able to use what they’ve learned in emergency situations, and also in general to show some kind of unity and acceptance with/of the Deaf community.”
